Annuities

An annuity is a type of investment that works like a mortgage in reverse: you give your annuity provider a sum of money and in return you receive a series of payments over a period of time.

The investment guarantees a lifelong income after the sum of money you give your provider has been invested. You will usually receive payments annually, but this can also be set into intervals of several months to more than a year.
