OCR (Optical Character Recognition)

A text recognition extension, which enables scanned text to be edited in a program such as Adobe Acrobat or Microsoft Word. “Lite” versions of this software sometimes come with scanner packages, but if you plan to be scanning several pages on a regular basis, you might consider it useful to upgrade to the full version.
